Arusha sits on a high plateau of the African Rift Valley at the base of Mt. Meru, which is Kilimanjaro's volcanic partner. It is surrounded by National Parks, including Mt. Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and Olduval Gorge.
It is a rich mosaic of cultures including the famous Masai Peoples.
The "Mountains - Waterways" connections are Mt. Meru which is at the north end of the main street of Arusha, and Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.
